Tony Stewart at night abrió to the fire in Daytona taking the victory in the race exhibition, Budweiser Shootout, disputed Saturday in the superoval of Daytona.
In this competition they only took part 21 from the 43 cars that will compete in Daytona 500 next the 18 of February. Stewart ran still ahead to Kyle Busch of the leadership with 8 returns and just on the end Ford Fusion of David Gilliland managed to inconvenience the position of the ex- champion of the series.
Kurt Busch with Dodge culminated third party, followed of the champion 2006 Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick. On the other hand Brian Vickers finalized eighth making official the historical debut of the Japanese mark Toyota in series NEXTEL of NASCAR. The other Camry into the hands of Dale Jarrett arrived in position 18.
“We already know how to at night gain the races of Saturday here in Daytona”, Stewart said. “Now we only need to see how we gained one of Sunday.”
The multiple champion Jeff Gordon left the test after having electrical problems in his Chevrolet.
On the other hand, the Colombian pilot Juan Pablo Montoya did not participate in this test of Daytona, because he has still not gained a NASCAR race nor has obtained one first released position of in some competition. The competition of Saturday only contemplated to guests with these characteristics.
The activity in Daytona will continue with other two races exhibition that will dispute the 15 of February.
Meanwhile today the classification of traditional Daytona 500 will be developed.
