Ryan Newman returned to exhibit its title of “king of the strategies” after gaining its fifth race of the calendar, the GFS Marketplace 400, used perfect tactics of equipment, and taking advantage the other people's errors.
Newman only took to its Dodge Intrepid to the leadership of the race to two returns of the end, when Kurt Busch remained without fuel. This triumph is fifth of the Dodge mark in the year, and the victory nº 50 of the equipment commanded by the legendary Roger Penske.
“Busch used a strategy very similar to mine, but it pressed too much and it remained without fuel”, explained Ryan. “He is sensational gain the victory nº 50 for the Penske equipment. I am very happy for having been who secured this profit”, said Newman, until the moment, the most winning pilot of the year.
Matt Borland, group leader of the Penske Racing South, thought: “Ryan conserved much combustible on the end. He is really a great pilot and it knows that to do at the indicated moment.”
The majority of the leaders paused in the last yellow flag, in turn 149 of 200. Busch returned just from leader to the track followed by Dale Jarrett but behind Jimmy Spencer, that chose not to pause.
Busch surpassed easily to Spencer to the resumption of the test, but Jarrett managed to surpass to Kurt in turn 152 although its position for a last resupply in turn 188 had to resign.
The fight by the triumph was into the hands of Busch and of Newman. This last one got until the escapes of the pilot of Ford forcing it to press more of the account. To a return of Busch end it only entered to pits without fuel. To a fast it returned it resupply to the race, but already it was too much behind schedule.
Jimmie Johnson, whom it led during 50 returns, also remained without fuel to two returns of the end, falling until 27º put.
The present champion of the series, Tony Stewart, arrived followed third party of the rookie Greg Biffle, whereas Steve Park and Robby Gordon completed best the six of the race.
The leader of the championship, Matt Kenseth, finished 9º running last the 52 returns without resupplying itself. “It is good for having secured points, but we have not made a good race today. I am not in agreement with the yield of my car, and that makes me feel very disappointed”, said Matt. “I need to gain races and at the moment we are very far from that.”
Anyway Kenseth can occur by satisfied. His main rival in the contest, Dale Earnhardt Jr, arrived 32º. The distance between Matt and Junior was extended of 258 to 329 units.
Winner Ryan Newman to time 127,310 mph in an interrupted competition in eight occasions, by space of 42 turns.
The majority of the yellow flags occurred by smaller incidents, except for two of them, who were spectacular.
First it happened in turn 63, when Todd Bodine tried to escape to Busch and Kenny Wallace. Busch control to Bodine to the wall crashing just in front of Wallace. To make matters worse the car of Wallace caught fire completing a frightful panorama. Both left unharmed.
The other incident occurred some returns later, when Rusty Wallace that went to pits, changed of decision to last moment and returned unexpectedly to the track collided with Earnhardt Jr.
The next date of the Winston Cup will be the next Sunday in the Motor Bristol Speedway, to dispute nocturnal Sharpie 500.
