In a frame of tension between two pilots of a same equipment nonseen from the times of the Seine versus Prost, the Briton Lewis Hamilton obtained his third victory of the season positions which it with a comfortable advantage of seven points on his coequiper, and to this rival staunch height, the Spanish Fernando Alonso.

“My primary target today was to add points to shorten the distance with respect to my three nearer rivals by the title. I did not obtain it and for that reason I cannot be completely happy. We knew that we counted on a very good car in terms of race rate and thus was, like it was possible to be seen clearly in the few occasions in which I could handle with the free track, but was not sufficient to win. When you are closely together of a car with similar speed unless it commits an error is very difficult to advance it, especially in drawing up like this. I fought until the end to win but never I had a real opportunity to advance to Hamilton. We made the first entrance to boxes together and in that point the election in the fuel levels determined the final result. “The race was huge. I did one hard released and was fighting by the fourth position in the first curves. “The today race has been complicated when having to take the exit from 11ª position of the grill. But I have not thrown the towel at any moment and have thrown to the maximum, which in the end has allowed me to add a point.
