Formula 1
20 of January
The equipment Mild Seven Renault F1 Team sent today in the R203, car whereupon the French set will confront season 2003 of Formula 1 and that from now on will call R23, in center of Conventions located in the Swiss city of Lucerna. The equipment decided to use this scene due to the prohibition of all type of tobacco propaganda that reigns in France.
The changes that the R23 presents/displays center in the aerodynamics (in the lateral ones, the exits of escape and the ailerons among others). The new Renault motor has an angle of 111 degrees in V, like the previous one.
The main partner of the equipment will be again the tobacco company Japanese Mild Seven and this will continue thus by the term of four years. Thus, Renault makes sure an entrance that goes up to around the 37 million dollars.
In the presentation their two official pilots were present (the Italian Jarno Trulli and the Spanish Fernando Alonso), their Technical Director (Pat Symonds), the president of Renault (Patrick Fauré), the head of the equipment (Flavio Briatore), the Director of track (Mike Gascoyne) and all sponsors.
“To see the form of a new car of Formula 1 always it is an exciting experience. More than 500 people they worked in this project and I want to thank for those people. It is an honor to be pilot of Renault. It is an honor for me to continue competing in the world-wide one like pilot of escudería Renault”, said Trulli.
“To obtain a seat of race with an important manufacturer it is a great opportunity, and I am not going to waste it. A thing is safe: before fighting by same me in the 2003, I will be piloting for the equipment”, said Alonso.
Symonds assures that the objective of the equipment will be to be the best equipment than it wears with Michelin covers.
“Like French equipment, our objective is to be the number one between which they use Michelin tires. We have worked elbow elbow during these months, and that must make us more competitive. Along with the aerodynamics, the tires are a key factor for the yield of a Formula 1 of today, and for that reason it demands our maximum attention”, said Symonds.
For Gascoyne the new system of score that grants reward until the eighth place will not be impediment so that the equipment adds/sinks points in almost all the Great Prizes.
“During the past season we finished between the six first with certain assiduity. But now it is awarded also to seventh and the classified eighth, because better for us. To finish between the eight first would not have to represent majors to us problems, thus is that in principle we would have to add points in each one of the Great Prizes”, said Gascoyne.
The equipment will make one second presentation in the French circuit of Paul Ricard, next day 23. In that opportunity, the car will not be able to present/display any type of tobacco propaganda due to the prohibition of this type of publicity that prevails in France.
Luck Fernando!
